All the various Groups & Pages on Facebook should be considered as a means to expand our own little industry.
It's a great way to NETWORK your product, or gain new insight to growing your business.
Whether it be to feed your livestock, manage their health, or where to buy & sell....
They are not in competition with each other. Use them together to help one another.

Welcome Everyone!!!
The BC BackYard Hobby Farm Network was created to bring our BC Farming Network together in a constructive manner. Starting with our Facebook LIKE Page, we've expanded it by adding this Network Website with extensive Lists to all the various Groups & Pages, Farms & Services for all types of farming LOCAL throughout the province of British Columbia, Canada. It is currently accessible to everyone. And it has grown into a great resource for networking.
At the moment, we have 2 groups that work concurrently with the BC BackYard Network. BC BackYard Poultry Growers & BC BackYard Hobby Farmers.

The BC BackYard Poultry Growers Group was created to Unite British Columbia Backyard, Hobby, and Non-Commercial Poultry Growers, Breeders, and Farmers from all over the province to bring important information to our members in times of need, and more....
The BC BackYard Hobby Farmer Group was created for all hobby farmers to share ideas, experiences and farming related posts. We believe in full-cycle farming. Whether gardening or raising your own meat, we are the place to connect....
While we have been looking into adding a dedicated Equine group to join us, the right fit just hasn't come up, and we haven't found the time or help to do so at this time....

BC BackYard Farm Network Our Group Rules
No matter how you use our BCBY Farm Network, we ask that you do follow our guidelines.
We don't have a lot of rules, and try to follow a common sense policy.
- Please keep all posts positive.
- Negative comments & posts will be removed.
- Stay polite & courteous to all members, regardless of difference of opinion.
- Insults & bullying will not be tolerated and members may lose access to the Network.
- No hijacking other members posts.

No Visible "Livestock or Animal Sales" on the Group Walls.

Here are some simple Guidelines for posting on the BC BackYard Farm Groups in the future....

PLEASE STOP! DO NOT USE the "MARKETPLACE" aka. "Sell Something" Feature.
That feature is your biggest enemy. It has a very tricky connection to the FB Marketplace, and is be the quickest way posts end up reported. Your post can end up on the "Marketplace" whether you know it or not, and whether or not you can even access from the area you live.

PLEASE DO! USE the "Start Discussion" or "Write Post" Feature.
Add a minimal description of your "Animal" and direction to where you have more information about it. IE: your farm page and/or the "hobby Network website"

Examples:
1. See my post on the "BC BackYard Farm Network Website"
Add the Main Website Address. NOT the Classifieds
2. More Egg & Chick Information @ "your website"
add link to your website
3. More information on Pig Whispering @ BC BackYard Farm Network Website
Add the Main Website Address. NOT the Classifieds
4. Find my post at "@your farm" LIKE Page in Crofton, BC.
Put the @ in front of your FB LIKE Page, it will automatically link your page

So many ideas to try, we'll have to see what works and make adjustments as needed....
PLEASE 1 PHOTO ONLY per post on the wall.
Multiples break away from the post & float in limbo with no description to them, clogging the group wall.
