ATTENTION ALL BC BackYard Network GROUP MEMBERS
IT IS WITH HEAVY HEART, I MAKE THIS ANNOUNCEMENT
As of May 1st, 2017 the "BC Backyard Poultry Growers & BC Backyard Hobby Farmers" groups no longer allows "Visible Animal Sales" on the Group wall.
We continue to allow "Livestock & Poultry Photos that link to your own Farm Pages, Websites, or the Farm Classifieds. Links to "Craigslist" "KIJIJI" or other similar classifieds may be deleted without notice.

FB now ACTIVELY deletes posts that visibly look like you are selling your animals. Our measures taken to slow this assault on our freedom of speech hasn't been enough, and we are working on other solutions...

This has been an EXTREMELY difficult decision for me to make, and I know some members may decide to leave the group due to this decision, but it was not made lightly.... I can honestly understand why some of you may feel this way; and if you go, you are always more than welcome to request to join again... Although, I truly hope you decide to stay with the BC BackYard groups and see where this adjusted journey takes us...
At this time, based on what I've learned over the past few months through certain groups I belong to, and what I've read in other articles; I have chosen to air on the side of caution. But, I'm hoping like crazy this whole thing is wrong and goes nowhere.... I truly applaud all the groups fighting it all the way... If at any time, I feel that Selling animals on FB is once again welcome, I will happily reverse my decision....
**NOTE** Any members who "Admin" Related BC Farm Groups are more than welcome to promote our Network Classifieds in their own groups and to their own members as an alternative method of posting "Animal Sales" for those who wish.

In the mean time, please continue to make this a great discussion forum with "other" sales. Use the Network Classifieds. Use your pages & Websites (Don't forget to have them added on the main Network Website). And by all means, continue selling; how ever you decide to do it....

Here are our UPDATED GROUP RULES and some simple Guidelines for posting on the BC BackYard Farm Groups in the future

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO USE the BCBY Farm Classifieds that were created for safe selling without fear of reprisal by the very forum you have come to rely on...

PLEASE Feel Free to READ the articles posted on "BC BackYard BLOGGER" pertaining to the Ban explaining many of your questions & giving good tips.
I am truly sorry to those of you who think I may be over-reacting. But, as the Creator of the BCBY Network including these 2 groups, and how much work I've put into building it to what it is for the Hobby Farmers of British Columbia; and considering the visible threat by FB regarding continued "Animal Sales" on their Forum; it is my decision to make. I will not tolerate arguments contrary to this decision.
